REMOVAL OF METALS FROM DILUTE MINE WATER

Our adsorbent products designed for removing soluble metals remove harmful free ions from the water, whether it is the drainage water or water from the gangue area. The removal efficacy can be adjusted by altering the adsorbent dosage and the retention time. The products can also be used for improving the efficiency of metal removal with regular hydroxide precipitation (lime milk precipitation).

The advantage of the adsorbents manufactured by Aquaminerals is that they work in a wide pH range. As such, there is no need for separate pH adjustment. In addition, the saturated adsorbent deposits are stable and do not dissolve

TSF and Process water Treatment

Typically TSF and process water includes e.g. soluble arsenic, which must be removed from the discharge water.

Besides to arsenic,  Aquaminerals’ adsorbent removes other soluble metal ions, as shown in the above picture.

Aquamineralssolution is based on a two- phase treatment: reduction of arsenic and metal ions by adsorbents followed by flocculant dosing. Experience indicates arsenic reduction rate will be up to 90-100% and can be adjusted by adsorbent media dosing. Before discharging treated water, solid particle separation is done by using efficient and compact lamella clarifiers or in settling ponds.

SULPHATE REMOVAL

Stricter environmental permit conditions require more effective methods of reducing the sulphate load of waste water.

The usual cleaning methods, such as gypsum precipitation, only remove part of the load.
